I’ve either juiced or had a juice smoothie every day for almost 73 days.Last week was a good week for juicing. I made my goal of having 32 ounces of juice each day. I also got to play with the Breville BJE200XL. A product review will follow shortly. (Short answer: It’s an awesome juicer and a great value.)
Here’s a sampling of this week’s juices.
I’m not posting the pics to keep a diary. The goal is to give you guys ideas. Note the use of rainbow carrots. A fundamental juicing principle is, Juice the rainbow.
Remember learning about the color spectrum from your friend Roy G Biv?
Different colored fruits and vegetables have different antioxidants and nutrients. Get as many colors into each juice as possible. My goal is 5 colors per juice, although that’s not always possible.
Feel free to add your own pics and recipes. Once I figure out how to do it, I’m going to create a little juicing forum for us.
A forum would kick ass. I’m looking to upgrade my juicer, probably to an Omega VRT350, but still lolling forward to what you have to say in your review.
Do you juice the stems on broccoli and kale, or separate the leaves?
The stems have the most juice.
When I make kale chips or blend kale into my smoothies, I save the stems to juice the next day.
I eat broccoli daily with dinner. Maybe I should start saving the stems from that that I would otherwise throw away. Thanks for the tip.
how about telling us what’s in the pics? i don’t recognize them all.
