- Spices are potent and super concentrated. Start with a very small amount, often just a “shake” from the spice container.
- You can always add more spices but you cannot remove spices once they have been added.
- Add spices to juice that would be good with those foods in solid form. In other words, if you’re juicing pumpkin, add some pumpkin pie spices.
- Spices mix in easier if you add the spices halfway through juicing.
- You can add spices to your superfood smoothies as well.
What sort of spices can you add to juices? Cayenne pepper is awesome to add to a Real V8. Black pepper is delicious. Curry powder will make your super green juice even more anti-inflammatory.

Try These Spicy Juice Recipes
Lemon Detox Water
- 3 whole lemons (peeled or not, depending upon how “lemony” you want your juice to taste)
- 1 green apple
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
For added refreshment, add some sparking mineral water.
Green Curry Juice
- 1 cucumber
- 3 stalks celery
- 6 stalks kale
- 1 lemon (peeled)
- 1/4 tsp yellow curry powder and/or cayenne pepper
Apple Pie Juice
- 6 carrots
- 2 apples
- 1/2″ ginger
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Pumpkin Pie Juice
- 1 small pumpkin
- 3 carrots
- 1 apple (or pear)
- 1/2″ ginger
- 1/4 tsp of your favorite spices such as cinnamon, cloves, allspice and nutmeg.
Real V8 Juice with Cayenne Pepper
- 2 carrots
- 1/2 medium-sized beet
- 1/2 nub ginger
- 1 green apple
- 1 lemon (peeled)
- 2 stalks celery
- 1 handful parsley
- 1 tomato
- Add Black pepper and cayenne pepper to taste
Adding spices to your juices will make them more nutritious by boosting the antioxidant power of the juice and they also make the juice taste better.
