So, you’re beginning your search for a new juicer. Maybe you’re starting a detox, trying to shed some pounds or you just love fresh juice. There are so many different types of juicers out there: twin gear juicers, centrifugal juicers, vertical masticating juicers, horizontal masticating juicers. It’s fair to say that the process of buying a juicer can be a bit daunting.
Luckily, reading product reviews like this one is a great place to start when you are beginning your juicer search.
In this article, we are going to be putting the Omega H3000R Horizontal Cold Press Juicer to the test using a variety of root vegetables and fruit. We are going to be asking some important questions. Is the Omega H3000R hard to put together? Does the Omega H3000R have a higher juice yield compared to other juicers? And most importantly, should you buy it?
Let’s find out.
Omega H3000R Cold Press 365 – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer: Description
The Omega H3000R Cold Press is a horizontal slow juicer with a speed of 90 – 110 RPM per minute, much slower than its vertical masticating and centrifugal counterparts.
Now, high speed juicers are efficient if you are trying to make large batches quickly. However, they do not retain as many nutrients in the final product and generally produce lower quality juices. A great aspect about the slow juicing process is that the produce has less oxygen contact. Minimizing the oxygen amount can vastly reduce oxidation and discolouration, leaving you with a longer lasting, uniform juice. The slow juicing process also preserves enzymes, antioxidants and essential vitamins.
Looking at the Omega H3000R’s product description on their website, they claim that the Omega H3000R is dishwasher safe, has a high juice yield and pulp control. It’s also noted that the Omega H3000R has a low noise level and minimal oxidation, foaming and clogging. This affordable juicer can be found at most big box stores, including Walmart, Costco and Home Depot to name a few. The Omega H3000R’s listed price on omegajuicers.com is $149.95 USD, with a rating of 3.7 out of 5 stars.
Let’s get juicing to see if the Omega H3000R is worth our valuable dollars and time!

Omega H3000R Cold Press 365 – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer: Assembly
Assembly was quite simple. I laid out all of my pieces and used a photo from Google Images as an example of how the end result should look. There are also instructions provided on how to assemble, but I was feeling confident. It took about 2 minutes to set up. I should mention that the engine base silver drum/feed locking clip has to be pulled up for the drum and feed chute to properly attach, then you place the engine base silver drum/feed locking clip back down so that the drum and feed chute is in place and won’t move.
Below are photos of how to lock the Drum and Feed Chute
Fruits And Vegetables Used For Testing
On the menu for today’s trial: Beet, apple, carrot and ginger juice.
I chose these ingredients because they all have different textures and juice yields. I wanted to see how the Omega H3000R could handle hard root vegetables and apple skin. I typically have issues with these types of produce when using other juicers, so let’s see how the Omega H3000R steps up to the challenge.
Omega H3000R Cold Press 365 – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer: Function Negatives and Positives
Negatives:
Noise: I was expecting less noise, Omegajuicers.com states that this product is quieter than faster working juicers (compared to centrifugal juicers). I disagree, once I started juicing harder produce such as beets or carrots, the noise turned from a soft hum to a louder rumble. Some noise is to be expected with crushing the juice out of vegetables or fruit, but I wouldn’t say that the Omega H3000R is any quieter than other juicers. The volume of the noise could come as an issue if you are sharing a small space with others and plan on doing plenty of juicing.
Slow: I’ll start by saying that this machine is meant to be slow. I was and am totally aware of that. That being said, if you are someone who makes juice every morning and you are usually rushing out of the house, you might want to put at least 10 minutes aside for juicing. The Omega H3000R is anything but fast and frankly took longer than expected to produce the juice yield.
Positives:
Easy Assembly: As prefaced before, the Omega H3000R is extremely simple to put together.
Simple Process: This product is very easy to use! Simply turn it on and start pushing produce down the feed chute. You do have to cut the fruits and vegetables into semi-small pieces, so that they fit in the feeding tube. However, that’s pretty standard for at home juicers.
Sturdy Engine Base: At the bottom of the engine base, there are 4 suction cups. The suction cups are a great feature that stop the machine from moving around. I really appreciated that I didn’t have to hold the machine in place and yet, it was still so sturdy.
High Juice Yield: This product provides you with the maximum amount of juice possible. The auger juices at a very low speed, but high power. I only juiced one large beet and I got about 12 ounces of juice! Very impressive.
Minimal Foam: Overly foamy juice is never fun. The Omega H3000R did produce foam, however, it was minimal. There was about 1 to 2 inches of foam leftover.
Minimal Oxidation: Fresh fruit juice, especially apple or banana juice, does tend to oxidize at a faster rate, since they are natural and don’t contain pigments, sugars or acids. Once I was finished juicing, I waited about 30 minutes to see if my juice had browned or changed in any way. The product remained bright beet red and did not alter at all. It was a lovely surprise.
Minimal Clogging: Omega’s website mentions that this product has minimum clogging. After juicing beets, carrots, apples and ginger, I only had to use the low speed, reverse function once to remove some stuck apple skin. If you are dealing with some clogging, try pressing a harder vegetable and then a softer fruit right after, this is one of the most effective ways to prevent build up.
Pulp Control: Omega H3000R’s slower juicing process increases the pulp control. This is because the pulp comes out very slowly and in a uniform fashion. Little mess is made.
Omega H3000R Cold Press 365 – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer: Clean Up
This product is super easy to clean! It takes around 2 minutes to clean this machine properly. Most of the pieces wash off with some hot water and soap. The only scrubbing that was needed was for the juice screen. Luckily, the cleaning brush was excellent at removing the tiny bits that the water and soap couldn’t remove.
I also tested out the Omega H3000R’s parts in the dishwasher to see if they are dishwasher safe. I washed on the ‘normal’ setting for about 1 hour and was happy to find that none of the parts warped or changed shape.
Omega H3000R Cold Press 365 – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer: Storing
If you have a large kitchen, I am sure you will have no issue leaving the Omega H3000R out on the kitchen counter or in a cabinet. On the other hand, if you have a smaller kitchen with less counter space, then you may have a hard time storing. The Omega H3000R has a larger surface area than a vertical, upright juicer. I would suggest taking the Omega H3000R apart and storing it away in a cabinet if you want to save counter space.
Omega H3000R Cold Press 365 – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer: Who Is This Product For?
The Omega H3000R is a great juicer for beginners. It’s simple to use, easy to clean and has a high quality end result. This slow juicer is perfect for people who juice daily as well, however, you will need to put some extra time aside due to its low speed. That being said, the slow process does yield a nutritious juice with generally better quality. The Omega H3000R delivers higher nutritional value because it can easily access nutritious enzymes and nutrients improving overall health with every sip. It’s very much worth the time it takes. Moreover, this machine is affordable and found in most stores making it a solid, guilt free option for all types of juice lovers.
Omega H3000R Cold Press 365 – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer: Overall Rating And Final Thoughts
I’m happy to say that through my testing, I found that most of the Omega H3000R’s product descriptions were accurate. I would rate the Omega H3000R Cold Press – Horizontal Slow Masticating Juicer 4.5 out of 5 stars. It’s a sturdy, available, beginner friendly option.
Don’t forget, your juicing possibilities are endless!
