Most of us have been taught that an unripe banana is green and a ripe banana is yellow. Although a yellow banana is edible, a ripe banana has black specks in it. Some have said that a ripe banana looks like a dinosaur penis. This is what a ripe banana looks like:
I always keep ripe bananas in the freezer to make banana ice cream and to add into my green smoothies. A ripe banana gives a green smoothie a creamy, ice-cream like consistency.
While we’re talking about bananas, check out this new banana ice cream recipe:
Blueberry coconut banana ice cream
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 3 frozen bananas
- 2-3 tablespoons shredded coconut
Run Frozen bananas and blueberries (or raspberries, cherries, or other fruit that adds a cool tart flavor to complement the creaminess and sweetness of bananas) through an Omega J8006 (here) or Omega VRT 350 (here) juicer. You can also blend them in a BlendTec or Vitamix.
Find out why the Omega J8006 and VRT 350 are the best juicers.
Top with shredded coconut. Enjoy.
