What Can I Eat While Juicing?

That is a great question. Will you allow me to answer it in two parts?

You can eat whatever you want while juicing.

That’s it. That’s your answer.

Now for a digression…

I started Juicing For Men because most juicing sites have a New Age feel to them. They talk about the “energies” and “chakras” in juices. Most juice blogs treat juicing as all-or-nothing.

Either go on a juice fast and a spiritual retreat, or don’t bother.

I think a lot of juicers want to become spiritual gurus or cult leaders.

Anyhow, there was no juicing forum for regular guys. While women can learn a lot from Juicing For Men, I built the site for regular guys who want to get fitter and healthier. Ideally women will take their husbands and boyfriends to Juicing For Men. “See, I told you this isn’t a bunch of hokey nonsense!”

I know from my own experience and from that of hundreds of other guys that you don’t need to stop eating like a man simply because you juice.

A perfectly suitable breakfast is a large juice with bacon and eggs.

A perfectly suitable dinner is a large juice with a rib eye steak.

I often put protein powder and coconut oil in my juices.

Eating a fat-containing meal can actually increase your juicing results, as many of the bioflavonoids and phytonutrients are fat solutable. That is, your body is better able to convert the juice’s nutrients in your body if you drink your juice with some fat.

Check out the scientific study entitled, “Carotenoid bioavailability is higher from salads ingested with full-fat than with fat-reduced salad dressings as measured with electrochemical detection,” which notes:

After ingestion of the salads with fat-free salad dressing, the appearance of alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, and lycopene in chylomicrons was negligible. After ingestion of the salads with reduced-fat salad dressing, the appearance of the carotenoids in plasma chylomicrons increased relative to that after ingestion of the salads with fat-free salad dressing (P < 0.04). Similarly, the appearance of the carotenoids in plasma chylomicrons was higher after the ingestion of salads with full-fat than with reduced-fat salad dressing (P < 0.02)

Now should you really eat Duncan Donuts after juicing? Of course not. 

But once you start juicing, something magical (I kid…) happens. Namely, you stop craving junk food and start craving healthier food.

Drink a large glass of juice before breakfast, lunch, or dinner.  Then eat whatever you want.
